2007 Press Release

Leading Data Retention and Retrieval Company CopperEye Appoints Chief Solutions Architect to Executive Team

Proven 20-year IT Veteran to Focus on Solving Customer Business Challenges

Stamford, CT (November 27, 2007) – CopperEye, a leading provider of data retention and retrieval solutions, today announced that David Helps has joined the company as Chief Solutions Architect.  In this role, Mr. Helps will lead a team responsible for solving complex business challenges facing CopperEye’s customers by developing customized solutions based on the company’s innovative data management products.

David Helps is a proven enterprise architect with more than 20 years experience in IT, 12 of which have been specifically within the architecture discipline.  He has been responsible for implementing a number of complex Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and delivering large scale solutions across a number of sectors including defense, finance, telecommunications and government.

Mr. Helps was previously engaged as the Director of Architecture and Design for 3 (Hutchison 3G), the mobile media company, with responsibility for the end-to-end IT system within the UK.  He also chaired the ‘3’ global architecture group before founding Wiser Consulting, a 3G consulting practice responsible for assisting a number of European telecommunications organizations to develop 3G solutions.  As an independent consultant Mr. Helps also assisted with the definition and launch of Virgin Mobile and Orange.

Mr. Helps’ addition to the CopperEye executive team comes at a time when the company is experiencing great success in the finance, government and telecommunications markets.  His telecommunications background will be of particular value as the company extends its sales and deployment of the Secure Data Retrieval Server (SDRS), a product developed in conjunction with CopperEye partner Sun Microsystems.  This product is targeted at communication service providers who are faced with conforming to the European Union Data Retention Directive.  This directive compels service providers to store up to two years of each subscriber’s communication records in order to provide critical and timely data to law enforcement officials.

“All of the companies with whom I’ve worked recently have experienced an explosion in the amount of data they are managing,” said David Helps.  “This is a particular issue in the telecommunications industry where increased regulation and profitability concerns are amplifying pressure on the organization’s IT infrastructure to house and leverage vast amounts of data.  I look forward to recommending and implementing  CopperEye’s innovative technology to solve these pressing challenges.”

CopperEye is a leading provider of data retention and retrieval solutions designed to meet the requirements of organizations challenged with the enormous growth in the volume of data they must manage. CopperEye’s software allows companies to store virtually unlimited amounts of data, making it instantly accessible, in a way that is far less complex and significantly less costly than traditional database and data warehouse approaches.

“David Helps brings tremendous expertise and first hand customer experience to his position at CopperEye, and will be an invaluable asset to our customers and partners,” said Kate Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer at CopperEye.  “I am pleased with the numerous recent successes CopperEye has achieved.  With David’s leadership and the feedback from our customers and partners, we are poised to rapidly deliver even more powerful, cost-effective data retention and retrieval solutions to organizations around the world.”

About CopperEye

CopperEye is a leading provider of data retention and retrieval solutions designed to meet the requirements of organizations challenged with explosive growth in the volume of data they must manage. CopperEye’s software helps companies cost-effectively capture, quickly store, and instantly access selective transactions from tens- or hundreds-of-terabytes whether the data is seconds or decades old. This is increasingly important as data volumes more than double every year and regulations require organizations to keep data longer. In addition, CopperEye's patented indexing technology approach delivers a quantum leap in performance in an open access format, supporting rapid data retrieval from enormous volumes of data at a fraction of the cost of traditional database and data warehouse approaches, while eliminating vendor and technology dependency.
