2004 Press Release

CopperEye Names Peter Ryan Chairman of the Board

Accomplished Software Executive Latest Addition to High Growth Company

December 15, 2004 - San Francisco, Calif. - CopperEye, developer and supplier of an innovative data indexing technology that significantly enhances database performance, which is the foundation for the CopperEye SDK and the CopperEye Datablade for the Informix Dynamic Server, today named Peter Ryan as chairman of its board of directors. Ryan brings to CopperEye more than 23 years of experience in the global information technology industry, including senior management positions at Aspect Development, Parametric Technology Corporation and IBM.

Corporate data volumes are growing exponentially and traditional solutions for dealing with the exploding volumes are neither scalable nor cost-effective. "CopperEye has developed an innovative approach to handling the burgeoning data problem through its data indexing technology, and I am very excited about the company's value proposition and growth prospects," said Ryan. "I look forward to leveraging my manufacturing, supply chain and IBM experience to contribute to the company's mission of helping customers optimize their data management needs."

Ryan currently works with a number of venture capital firms to help develop their portfolio companies, and serves as the chairman of the board for eLateral Ltd. and Wesupply Ltd. He is also the founder and chief executive of a privately held property development company.

Previously, Ryan was president of European operations at Aspect Development, until its acquisition by i2 in 2000, and was responsible for managing the company's initiatives to provide supply chain management solutions to companies in Europe and the Middle East. He also served as divisional vice president - Europe at Parametric Technology, and director of engineering technology solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at IBM. While with IBM he successfully grew the business more than 30 percent annually to achieve the leading European market share position, and built the European sales to account for more than 50 percent of IBM's worldwide engineering technology solutions business.

"CopperEye has gained significant momentum in 2004, and we are experiencing a further increase in traction as our partnership with IBM in EMEA and the United States expands," said Kate Mitchell, chief executive officer of CopperEye. "Peter's strong track record of successful sales leadership, expertise in the manufacturing sectors with a focus on the supply chain, and his senior management role with IBM - EMEA, will greatly benefit the company in our next phase of development."

About CopperEye

Using CopperEye, companies are able to improve global business and implement more powerful business applications at dramatically lower costs than competing solutions. CopperEye's underlying technology is a new, patented indexing approach that delivers a quantum leap in performance over traditional indexing alternatives.
