2004 Press Release
CopperEye Announces General Availability in the United States of the CopperEye Software Developers Kit
CopperEye's Patented Technology Enables the Creation of High-Performance Data Repositories Within High-Transaction Environments at Breakthrough Cost/Performance Levels
SAN FRANCISCO - March 31, 2004 - As part of its
expansion into the United States database optimization software market,
UK-based CopperEye today announced general availability in the US of
the CopperEye Software Developers Kit. At the same time, CopperEye
announced the appointment of a new, American CEO, Kate Mitchell, a
veteran executive in the global database industry, and the opening of
its US headquarters in San Francisco (see separate release).
CopperEye customers include Orange UK, one of the world's largest
telecommunications companies, with over 40 million customers in 21
countries across Europe and beyond. Telecommunications is the type of
high-transaction environment in which CopperEye's technology creates
greatest value. CopperEye's SDK was a key element in a made-to-order
solution for Orange UK that delivered high performance, longevity and
agility and, according to Orange UK's Solutions Delivery Manager,
perfectly suited the customer's needs.
The CopperEye SDK is intended for use by developers of extremely large,
high-performance, high-transaction volume applications. Target
customers for the CopperEye SDK are Independent Software Vendors and
Systems Integration firms specializing in application development, and
large companies who do their own in-house application development.
Obliterating the Decades-Old Performance Bottleneck
Using the CopperEye SDK, application developers are able to build
intelligent applications that deliver the "best of both worlds" in this
market space: both the high performance of operational systems and the
analytical power and flexibility of decision-support applications. This
is possible since CopperEye's patented technology allows applications
to handle very high transaction volumes while simultaneously indexing
in near-real-time virtually every field of the transaction, delivering
very fast query performance.
The CopperEye SDK is a robust, functionally rich set of software
routines for creating high-performance, custom-built data stores
suitable for extremely high-transaction volumes and large stores of
historical data. The CopperEye SDK provides all essential functions to
create and maintain data within a high-performance solution:
- Insert, delete and query for key and property pairs
- Transactional control to commit, rollback and set save points
- Recover data from process or media failures
- Manage indexes (e.g., create, drop)
- Ability to join queries and then join the result sets together
The CopperEye SDK is priced at $50K per CPU and is available immediately.
About CopperEye
CopperEye is a provider of enterprise data management software that
delivers an order-of-magnitude cost savings for companies needing to
capture, store and quickly access business event data where the volume
is measured in the tens- or hundreds-of-terabytes. This is increasingly
important as corporate data volumes more than double every year and
government regulations require companies to keep data longer. Using
CopperEye, companies are able to improve global business and implement
more powerful business applications at dramatically lower costs than
competing solutions. CopperEye's underlying technology is a new,
patented indexing approach that delivers a quantum leap in performance
over traditional indexing alternatives.
CopperEye has offices in Bath, U.K. and Stamford, Conn., U.S.A. For further information, please visit http://www.coppereye.com.
