CopperEye enables Netia to comply in record time

Polish telecom operator implements data management solution to comply with European Data Retention Directive

18 March 2009, London, UK - CopperEye, a leading provider of enterprise data management solutions, today announced that the Polish telecom operator Netia has successfully implemented the CopperEye and Sun(TM) Secure Data Retrieval Server (SDRS) solution to comply with the European Data Retention Directive (EU DRD).  Netia, one of Poland's largest telecoms providers, deployed SDRS to enable the secure retention and automatic management of 24 months historic communications data.

CopperEye and Sun in collaboration with Comp Safe Support, a leading Polish systems integrator, provided Netia with the ability to retain and query communications data quickly and cost-effectively in order to support Law Enforcement Agencies in Poland investigating criminal activities. The timescale for the implementation was tight as Netia required a solution to be operational by the end of 2008. An added challenge to the project was that the solution needed to integrate data across Netia's entire triple play offering of fixed-line, mobile, and internet services.
