CopperEye Announces Change in Executive Management

February 11, 2008

Kate Mitchell to Take Board Seat and focus on North American Market

London, UK (February 11, 2008) - CopperEye announced today that after leading the company as CEO for the past four years, Ms. Mitchell will transition from her day to day operating role to board member, with a focus on CopperEye’s strategic vision, including developing new vertical markets. The Board has appointed Carmen Carey, whom Ms. Mitchell recruited to CopperEye as SVP of Global Sales and Services in May, 2007 as her successor.

During the past year, CopperEye achieved broader penetration with UK and European Telecom providers, signed a reseller agreement with Sun Microsystems, and completed a strategic investment and licensing program with In-Q-Tel, the independent strategic investment firm that identifies innovative technology solutions to support the missions of the Central Intelligence Agency.

‘Due to the explosive growth in the amount of data organizations need to capture, store and make instantly accessible, the market is primed for CopperEye solutions’ said Allen Swann, CopperEye Chairman of the Board. ‘I would like to thank Kate for leading the company forward over the last four years. She has laid the foundation, and taken us to a position that we can now exploit going forward. As CopperEye embarks on this next high growth phase of its evolution from technology provider to market leader, the company will benefit from Carmen’s experience at MessageLabs, where she was instrumental in supporting the company’s growth from $40 million to over $100 million in annual revenues’.
‘CopperEye’s prospects have never been brighter, and I am enthusiastic about focusing my time and attention on further developing new opportunities within the US commercial and government markets,’ said Kate Mitchell, CopperEye Board Member. ‘We are also working with several global technology leaders who are in the process of evaluating CopperEye as the data management component for their appliance strategy, and I look forward to supporting CopperEye VP of OEM Sales and Alliances, Dan DiIeso as he leads the effort on those opportunities’.

Carmen Carey is the former Chief Operating Officer of MessageLabs, a leading integrated messaging and web security firm with over 16,000 customers worldwide supported by a 24x7 globally distributed infrastructure.
‘As MessageLabs was one of CopperEye’s first customers for its Greenwich product, I had the opportunity to experience first hand the extreme performance and scalability, yet small footprint, low cost and lack of complexity delivered by CopperEye’ said Carmen Carey, CopperEye Chief Executive Officer. ‘There was no other solution in the market that could come close to offering CopperEye’s unique data management solution. I am excited to step into the CEO role and help CopperEye expand the number of customers and partners benefiting from its innovative products and high quality services’.

CopperEye's patented indexing technology delivers a quantum leap in performance in an open access format, supporting rapid data retrieval from enormous volumes of data at a fraction of the cost of traditional database and data warehouse approaches, while eliminating vendor and technology dependency.

About CopperEye

CopperEye is a leading provider of data retention and retrieval solutions designed to meet the requirements of organizations challenged with explosive growth in the volume of data they must manage and leverage. CopperEye's software helps companies cost-effectively capture, quickly store, and instantly access selective transactions from tens- or hundreds-of-terabytes whether the data is seconds or decades old. This is increasingly important as data volumes more than double every year and regulations require organizations to keep data longer.
